Artwork inspired by Vincent Van Gogh

For the entire month of February, Wilson's 4th and 5th grade students have been exploring the artwork of Vincent Van Gogh. In art we used the fun and free artwork encyclopedia: http://www.wikipaintings.org/
to view Van Gogh's famous painting "The Starry Night"
As a class we learned about Van Gogh's use of real and implied texture, as well as his use of foreground, middleground, and background. Afterwards, we created our our works of art inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. I would love to share a few of 4th and 5th grade projects.

In addition, The Philadelphia Art museum is currently showing a special Vincent Van Gogh Exhibit.
The exhibit will be up from Feb- May 2012. If you are interested in visiting the exhibit and learning more about Van Gogh's artwork visit: http://www.philamuseum.org/exhibitions/743.html
